It was a beautiful night for friends, families and cancer survivors.

At 6:45 pm on June 5, 2009 our students performed at the Westside Relay for Life at Spencerport High School Football Field. This year was the 10th anniversary of the Relay for Life event, and after the first song, all together we sang "Buon Compleanno" (Happy Birthday) to the Spencerport Relay for Life.

As reported by RNews:
They turned out for American Cancer Society Relay for Life events around our area. The overnight walk-a-thons celebrate survivors, and raise funds to help find a cure for cancer.

“I'm anxious to be here," said cancer survivor George Delvecchio. "I love it here and this is a wonderful opportunity for people to participate. My oncologist and several of my others doctors have told me the cure is going to happen in our lifetime."

"Look at me, I'm a survivor," said cancer survivor Lois Widell. "Why am I a survivor? I'm a survivor because of all the funding and all the research. I don't think I would be here today if it wasn't for that."

Thank you to our students and families to partecipate at this event.
